I joined Abhisarga Yoga Shala seven months ago and am still continuing it — it has been an amazing experience. My flexibility, focus, and balance have improved a lot. The teacher, Prathima Ji, gives personal attention to each student, helps with every posture, and motivates you to become better every day. The classes are well-structured and suitable for all levels, whether you’re a beginner or have some yoga experience. The environment is peaceful and clean, which makes it easy to relax and focus. I also like that the batch size is small, so everyone gets proper guidance. I feel more energetic, calm, and positive after every class. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to improve their health, flexibility, and peace of mind through yoga.
I have been practicing in Abhisarga for 1.5 yrs and the journey has been rewarding with both inner and outer strength. The impact of regular practice is probably beyond words as its subtle and profound at the same time. It has greatly enhanced my strength, flexibility and mindfulness (being in the present, being centered, mindful eating, patience, resilience etc.) Regular practise has helped me strengthen my wrist which has a cyst where the only solution advised by doctors was a surgery and now I am able to do almost everything without any pain/swelling. It also helped me in completing the long and challenging Annapurna Circuit Trek without really struggling for each breath. Starting the day with yoga practice sets the rhythm for the day with a smile and keeps both stress and injury at bay. Truly grateful for Prathima's proficient teaching and for being a part of the Abhisarga family!
In my 10 months of practice, I have done no lifestyle changes (like food/sleep and other not-so-good habits). The only thing I have been diligent about is Yoga. Showing up to class everyday (almost) and giving my 100% there. Just doing this, has me at my lowest weight (lost 8kgs) and physically fit enough that I completed Hampta Pass Trek with little additional preparation. Prathima pushes us to do more and takes care of our postures in doing yoga, ensures we grow towards a healthier version of ourself. No brainer you should go to her if you are trying to have a better physical self. Be consistent and show up. That's all that it will take. I have been learning yoga in the last 3 months under Prathima's guidance. Before joining Abhisarga, I had no experience of yoga. I have a stiff body. I am unable to sit cross-legged on the ground or even squat. Over the past 3 months, I have seen a 4 kg reduction in body weight and significantly improved flexibilty and strength. I am able to complete 20 surya namaskaras daily (I had started off with 3-5 surya namaskaras 3 months ago). Recently I completed 54 surya namaskaras (with rest breaks) and that is my personal best. I was able to complete a moderately difficult 7-day trek in the Himalayas (Kashmir Great Lakes trek) that I couldn't imagine completing before my yoga practice. I look forward to further improving my flexibility over the foreseeable future! Prathima motivates her students (Shishyas) to practice, irrespective of their current physical condition and limitations. She guides us to perform the asanas with the correct form and posture, that has helped me tremendously. I strongly recommend Abhisarga not only to aspirants in the Koramangala area but also to those who can join her in online practice. A yoga shala serene, where spirits take flight, Guided by Prathima, from dawn till twilight. At 5.45 am, with the rising sun's gleam, We gather our mats, entering a dream. Surya Namaskar greets the morning light, Stretching our souls, embracing the bright. With planks we hold, our strength we test, Building our core, with patience and zest. Pranayama breathes life into our veins, Calming the mind, releasing our pains. Shavasana follows, a tranquil retreat, In silence, our hearts and the universe meet. One hour of yoga slips away, In Abhisarga’s embrace, we find our way. Prathima guides us with grace so profound, In her presence, peace and purpose are found. Daily we gather, from far and near, For the joy of yoga, for minds crystal clear. In Abhisarga’s haven, we rise and we bend, In unity and balance, our spirits ascend.
