I grew up in Chennai and would see our family being cheated by the mutton shop guys by giving not so tender meat. But I've been purchasing mutton from this shop for more than a year now and haven't had a bad experience even once. The meat is always tender and cooks easily in the cooker. In fact they are very competitively priced with mutton at 540 per kg(it is written in the shop). Most online meat shops charge around 600. It might not be the cleanest place that you've visited. But most small meat shops are like this. Only the air conditioned ones are kept clean like ChopServe. [Update] 2021-03-06 Mutton per kg is 700 Rs now.

This person who sells by name Javed was so disrespectful to my father, I am writing this from US, my father is 75 years old. Javed was very disrespectful, he started shouting at my father randomly and told my father not to come to his shop, he was screaming loud enough that everyone in the street could hear. Such a bad service, don't visit this place when this guy is around. My dad felt so bad he is a retired official who held a managerial post as long as my dad was working these people showed immense respect once my dad retired and now he is old this person Javed treated him so badly.
