Suku offers a cozy dining experience with flavorful dishes, though some find it lacks authentic Japanese taste.
Suku in HSR Layout turned out to be a delightful find for a casual Japanese meal. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it's thoughtfully maintained, cozy, and has a welcoming vibe. We started with the Veg Katsu Sushi, which was surprisingly good. The crispy, fried texture added a nice crunch while still keeping the flavors well balanced. For my main course, I ordered the Khao Suey, and the portion size was quite generous, I couldn't finish it and had to get the rest packed. That said, for someone trying it for the first time, it was flavorful, satisfying, and made with well-balanced ingredients. My partner went for the Chicken Ramen Bowl, which was equally enjoyable and comforting. One thing to note is that the food does take a bit of time to arrive, as everything seems to be prepared fresh. However, once the dishes reached the table, it was easy to see why the quality and taste made the wait completely worth it. Overall, Suku is a great spot in HSR for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Japanese-inspired comfort food in a cozy setting. Definitely a place I'd visit again.
One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve visited in Bangalore—hands down. Every dish I tried was super tasty, with great attention to flavor and presentation. The place has a cozy, inviting ambiance, and the service was excellent throughout—warm, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. If you’re going, don’t miss these standout dishes: • Grilled Baby Octopus – perfectly cooked and packed with flavor • Pork Belly Fried Rice – rich, comforting, and seriously addictive • Suku Way Chicken Katsu Ramen – hearty, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying
we went here without any expectation but duuuuudeee we were surprised with what we had there! the foods, tho we ordered randommly, were all amazing! i think this is the best veg sushi we ever had in Bangalore. also, their water chesnut dessert is a must-try!!! nothing to complain from my side, everything was flawless. the location could have been better, but all good :) the restaurant is very busy, i'd recommend you to book your table before walking in.
Disappointing – Not Authentic Japanese Flavors. I visited Suku in HSR Layout hoping for a good Japanese meal, but the food really missed the mark. The Food: Katsu Curry: Very disappointing. It felt "Indianized" with a strong Garam Masala flavor rather than the traditional Japanese curry taste. Chicken Karaage: Not good at all. It lacked that signature crunch and was quite soggy. Katsu Ramen: Average at best. The Experience: The lighting is quite dim, which makes it hard to see your food. Also, a major heads-up: make a reservation. If you don't, you’ll likely end up waiting in a long line. Given the quality of the food vs. the hype, I don't think it’s worth the wait.
