Customers praise the food and ambiance, but note long wait times. Overall, a popular choice for Sichuan cuisine.
I recently dined at Sichuan Chinese Restaurant in HSR, and it was an exceptional experience! The newly renovated ambiance sets a warm, inviting tone perfect for family gatherings. The menu updates pay homage to the rich history of Sichuan cuisine, renowned for its bold flavors and the perfect balance of spiciness and aromatic spices. We indulged in dishes like Mushroom Gong Bao, Spicy Black Pepper Pork, and Chili Mushroom Fried Rice, each bursting with authentic, bold flavors. The food portions are generous, making it ideal for family dining. While there is a 7.5% service charge, it’s well worth it for the top-notch experience. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to explore genuine Sichuan flavors!
Absolutely worth the wait! After waiting for almost 4 months for the restaurant to reopen following renovation, Sichuan Restaurant did not disappoint. The Veg Manchow Soup was perfectly balanced and comforting, the Paneer Manchurian (semi-gravy) was flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and the Egg Chinese Fried Rice was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the gravy. The newly renovated ambience looks fresh and inviting, making the dining experience even better. The service was excellent—prompt, courteous, and attentive. Service: 5/5 | Food: 5/5 | Ambience: 5/5 Truly happy they’re back—definitely a must-visit for Chinese food lovers!
Had a great dining experience here. Started with the soup, moved on to a few starters, and finished with the main course—and everything was consistently flavorful. The soup was comforting and well-balanced, with clean flavours and a nice depth that set the tone for the meal. The starters were fresh and nicely seasoned—not overly oily, with that familiar Indo-Chinese punch that actually lets you enjoy the ingredients. The main course really stood out: bold Sichuan-style flavours, good spice balance, and generous portions that felt satisfying without being heavy. What adds to the experience is the ambience. The restaurant has a calm, elegant vibe with beautiful Asian-inspired wall art and warm lighting. It feels spacious, relaxed, and perfect for both casual dinners and slightly longer sit-down meals. Overall, a solid spot for quality Chinese food with good flavours and a pleasant dining atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy well-made Indo-Chinese cuisine.
We visited Sichuan HSR after reading the reviews. It has limited seating, so we had about a 15-minute wait before getting a table. Once seated, service was polite though the starters took a little time. However, the wait was worth it — the Thai Basil Pork was excellent, as were the Mixed Sichuan Fried Rice and Tom Yum Chicken Soup. The Qinghai Chicken was just average. They accidentally served rice instead of noodles, but honestly, the rice tasted so good we didn’t mind. Overall, tasty food, cozy ambience, and a nice spot for relaxed Chinese/Sichuan dining.
